Job Summary
Registered Nurse Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Somerset, Kentucky. The position provides preoperative and post-anesthesia care for patients across the lifespan, including pediatric and intensive-care-level patients. Responsibilities include ventilator management, recovery and stabilization of complex surgical patients, and support across multiple surgical service lines.
Job Details
- Schedule: 8:30 a.m.9:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday; 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Associate Degree in Nursing (AND); Registered Nurse (RN) licensure; Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications; 2+ years of experience; ability to care for patients of all ages, including pediatric patients; experience with ventilators, arterial lines, Foley catheters, chest tubes, and patient recovery.
- Preferred Qualifications: Ability to manage intensive-care-level patients during recovery and hold beds.
- Additional Information: Preoperative and post-anesthesia care responsibilities include recovering and holding ventilator-dependent patients, assisting with nerve blocks, glucose monitoring, bladder scanning, intravenous pump management, sequential compression device use, and wound vacuum care. The role includes overnight call from 11:00 p.m.7:00 a.m. every other week, typically on a scheduled workday. Patient populations may include adults, older adults, children, and infants.
