Description:
Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, and coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.
This unit provides antepartum/antenatal and postpartum/postnatal care for maternity patients and normal newborns. Gynecology patients are excluded. Note that this department does not include labor and delivery. Requirements:
Night Shift - 36 or 48's. EPIC experience REQUIRED
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred
- Acute care facility experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
Facility Specific License/Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS): Required
Department Specific License/Certifications:
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale: Required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)?certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
