Job description
Genie Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Des Moines, Iowa.

Shift & Scheduling Details
- Night shift: 12-hour shifts
- Standard schedule: 4 shifts per week / 48 hours
- 36-hour schedules may be accommodated for nurses who prefer them
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend or every third weekend, depending on staffing and census
- Holiday rotation required
- Winter holidays: Unless the unit is closed, travelers must work 1–2 of the 3 upcoming winter holidays
- On-call requirement: No routine call requirement
Unit Details
- Unit: 5 East – Medical-Surgical / Med-Surg Telemetry
- Bed Size: 15
- Patient Ratio: 4–5 patients per nurse
- Patient Population: Variety of medical-surgical patient types
- Drips: Heparin
- Telemetry Monitoring: Remotely monitored by telemetry technicians
- Scrubs: Solid navy blue
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 24 months of Med-Surg, Medical-Surgical, or Med-Surg Telemetry experience
- Must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 18 months; first-time travelers are not accepted
- Experience caring for a variety of medical-surgical patients
- Epic EMR experience
- Heparin experience
- Recent charge nurse or preceptor experience
- Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate RN license
- Current AHA/American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
Highly Preferred:
- Strong telemetry and cardiac nursing background
- At least 24 months of current Med-Surg / Med-Surg Telemetry experience documented in the work history
