Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift position. This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care while working effectively within a dynamic healthcare environment.
Position Details
- Start Date: November 16, 2026
- Contract Length: 12 weeks
- Shift: 3x12 (may consider 4x12) Night shifts from 20:00 to 08:30
Responsibilities
- Provide care to adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical setting.
- Assist with patient assessments, interventions, and evaluations.
- Maintain patient safety and support optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and maintain clear communication.
- Float within the specialty and to sister units as necessary, adhering to lower acuity as needed.
- Participate in holiday and weekend shifts as scheduled.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required; first-time travelers are welcome to apply.
- Current RN license in the state of Maryland.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are mandatory.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required.
- National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale certification required.
Work Environment
- Average daily census of 40-42 patients.
- Room/beds ratio of 22/42.
- Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5.
- Scrub color: Navy Blue.
