Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong background in orthopedics to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care to patients in a fast-paced environment, specifically focusing on orthopedic, neuro spine, and post-surgical patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer patient care with a focus on pain management and recovery.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and telemetry readings.
- Perform IV starts and assist with various medical procedures.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Float to other medical-surgical units as needed based on staffing requirements.
- Participate in weekend rotations and make up for any missed shifts.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a nursing role with a focus on orthopedics.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records is desirable.
- Current certifications: BCLS, NIH. ACLS certification is preferred.
- Previous charge nurse experience and exposure to Level I Trauma are advantageous.
Contract and Shift Details
- 20+ week contracts available until February 27, 2027.
- 12-hour day shifts (06:45 - 19:15) with options for 36 or 48 hours per week.
- No call requirement.
- Maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) during contract period; holiday RTO is not permitted.
Patient Population
The unit typically cares for approximately 37 patients daily, including those requiring orthopedic and post-surgical care. All confirmed COVID-19 patients will be cared for within their respective units unless they are moved to ICU.
