Position:: RN – Med Surg/Telemetry
Location: Des Moines, IA
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift (Friday, Saturday & Sunday) | 36 hrs/week
Start Date: November 9, 2026
Pay Package (36 hrs):
• W2 (Taxable): $25/hr
• Per Diem (Non-Taxable): $1,412/week
• Gross Weekly Pay: $2,312/week
• Overtime Rate: $37.50/hr
Requirements:
- Minimum 24 months of Med Surg/Med Surg Tele experience
- At least 1 completed travel contract within the previous 18 months; first-time travelers are not accepted
- EPIC experience required
- Heparin experience required
- Charge experience required
- Telemetry/cardiac experience highly preferred
- Preceptor experience preferred
- Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license required
- AHA or American Red Cross BLS certification required
- Med Surg/Telemetry-specific skills checklist required
- Valid driver's license required
- Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility
- Must float to other campuses within the contracted skill set
- Holiday rotation: Must work 1–2 of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's holidays unless the unit is closed
- No on-call requirement
- Patient ratio: 4–5:1
- Scrubs: Solid navy blue
- Candidates should be open to extending beyond the initial 13 weeks
