Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care while managing a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Contract Length: 16 Weeks (up to February 27, 2027)
- Shift: 12 Hour Nights (18:45 - 07:15)
- Target Ratios: 1:6 for a total of 36 beds
- Float Requirement: Must be willing to float to all areas holding Medical-Surgical patients.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend is required.
Required Skills and Certifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in nursing.
- First-time travelers are welcome.
- Strong background in Medical-Surgical nursing is required.
- Proficient in MS/Telemetry settings.
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills, including interpretation of dysrhythmias and experience with rapid response/code teams.
- IV therapy and phlebotomy skills, including blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, and the ability to start and maintain IVs.
- Respiratory skills, including the use of nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management.
- Knowledge of professional topics such as isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Required certifications: BCLS, NIH.
Preferred Skills and Certifications
- Telemetry experience is preferred.
- Management of dysrhythmias.
- Preferred certifications: OCN & Chemotherapy Administration.
Unit Orientation
Orientation for new hires will consist of a 24-hour training program to ensure you are well-prepared to succeed in your role.
Notes
- Must pass EKG testing prior to the start of employment.
- Scrubs are not provided; navy scrubs are required.
