Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele
Job Overview
The position involves providing telemetry-capable care to hospitalized patients aged 65 and older within an Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit. The focus is on preserving patient mobility and cognitive function, aiming to help patients return to their pre-admission baseline.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care on the MS/Tele unit with a patient ratio of 1:5.
- Administer IV therapy, blood products, and manage central, peripheral, and PICC lines.
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and perform remote telemetry monitoring.
- Implement heparin protocols and ensure telemetry-capable care.
- Deliver proficient geriatric-focused care.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required.
- Active South Carolina license or multistate license is mandatory.
- 1 year of EPIC charting experience is essential.
- Certifications required: BLS and ACLS.
- Experience in MS/Tele nursing is preferred.
Scheduling Details
- Shift: Night shifts (3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30).
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
- Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 of the 3 designated holidays.
- Requests for time off and special scheduling must be included upfront and are subject to facility approval.
- Call-off policy allows for one shift cancellation every two weeks.
Additional Information
- Agency staff may be required to float to different units or locations as necessary, with limitations based on qualifications and competencies.
- Position accepts first-time travelers and allows local applicants based on radius criteria.
