Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor RN Wausau, WI. This position involves providing care on a busy post-surgical unit with adult and geriatric patients. The nurse will work 12-hour rotating day/night shifts, every other weekend and holiday, ensuring high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details

- Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, day/night variables, 48 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: WI RN License, BLS (AHA or ARC), 2+ years of Medical Surgical experience, recent hospital experience, trauma level II experience, prior travel experience, Epic charting experience, minimum of 2 years of related experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: This unit is a 40-bed inpatient post-surgical care area providing continuum care for pre- and post-surgical adults and geriatric patients. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 or 5 during day/pm shifts, and 1:5-7 during night shifts. The unit sees an average of 10-15 admissions daily with an occupancy rate of 90-95%. The average length of stay ranges from 2 to 3 days, except for joint procedures. The role requires multitasking and prioritizing based on acuity and working cohesively as a team. During flu season, unvaccinated travelers must wear masks at all times in accordance with policy.
