Join a collaborative healthcare team as a Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) in Mauston, Wisconsin. Travel Nursing Job Details

- Healthcare Setting: On-site Med/Surg and EICU care

- Start Date: October 12, 2026
- End Date: January 11, 2027
- Shift: Weekender day shift, Friday–Sunday, 6:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
- Shift Duration: 12-hour days
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week; approximately 36 hours per week
- Position Type: Travel nursing contract
Med/Surg RN Job Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtainable within 1 month of hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required or obtainable within 6 months of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification encouraged
- Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and computerized documentation systems
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and de-escalation skills
- Ability to safely lift, push, pull, reach, stoop, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, with reasonable accommodations available as needed
Med/Surg Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, document, and evaluate individualized care for assigned patients
- Provide skilled nursing care across adult Med/Surg, mother/baby, pediatric, orthopedic, and EICU patient populations
- Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and promptly communicate significant findings to the provider
- Administer medications safely, including intravenous therapies, in accordance with orders, policies, and procedures
- Review and acknowledge provider orders in the electronic medical record and complete or delegate follow-up actions appropriately
- Perform or assist with approved procedures and treatments while maintaining aseptic technique and infection-control standards
- Respond appropriately to urgent and life-threatening situations using established nursing standards and protocols
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, safety, and discharge needs
- Collaborate with providers and members of the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care
- Maintain a safe environment, use appropriate precautions, and ensure proper specimen handling
