Job Summary
Medical Surgical Nurse (MS) Location: not specified. This position involves providing patient care in a Medical Surgical Floor environment within a healthcare facility. The role includes managing a patient ratio of 1:6, with responsibilities such as monitoring telemetry, utilizing Epic electronic health record system, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education, Experience, and Location Requirements: BLS certification; at least 1 year of inpatient medical-surgical experience; no minimum experience requirement specified; active state or compact license required.
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Additional Responsibilities: Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care/management.
- Procedures and Unit Details: Epic system experience within the last 6 months; patient population includes adults and geriatrics; daily census approximately 37 patients; unit includes interdisciplinary support such as physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary.
- Orientation and Additional Information: 20 hours of orientation required; float to units of equal or lesser acuity may be required; high-quality patient care and safety adherence expected; must complete core onboarding within 48 hours of contract signing, including labs and modules completed onsite during orientation.
