Registered Nurse – Long-Term Care with ED Float | Housing Provided
We’re looking for an experienced RN to join a long-term care team, with regular floating to the Emergency Department as needed. Housing is provided by the facility, so you can focus on the work instead of finding a place to stay. This role suits a nurse who is comfortable delivering steady, relationship-based care to long-term residents and can also switch into a fast-paced emergency setting when needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to long-term care residents, including assessments, medication administration, wound care, and care plan updates
- Float to the Emergency Department based on census and staffing needs
- Triage, assess, and stabilize ED patients with acute and emergent conditions
- Recognize changes in condition early and escalate appropriately
- Collaborate with physicians, providers, and interdisciplinary teams across both units
- Document accurately and on time in the EMR
- Communicate clearly with patients, residents, and families
Requirements
- Active RN license, or a compact license where applicable
- Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience (required)
- Long-term care, skilled nursing, or med-surg experience preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS and TNCC are a plus
- Strong critical thinking and adaptability across different patient populations
- Comfortable floating between units with different paces and acuity
