Position: RN – Geriatric Long-Term Care / Psych
Facility: GSS – Canistota
Setting: Post-Acute / Long-Term Care Psychiatric
Shift: 12-hour Days
Schedule: Every other weekend + holidays
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Contract: 13 weeks
Beds: 55
🧠 Specialty – Important
- This is a Geriatric LTC Psych facility.
- Geriatric Psych or LTC Psych experience is preferred.
- Patient population is primarily elderly.
- Dementia is very common.
- Some patients have:
- Schizophrenia
- Bipolar disorder
- Paranoia
- Behavioral health needs
👩⚕️ Requirements
- BSN required
- BLS required
- Active RN license required for submission
- Psych/LTC psych experience preferred
👥 Ratios / Staffing
- Day: approximately 1:23
- Overnight: approximately 1:45
- Med aide available 6 AM–10 PM
- One nurse from 10 PM–6 AM
- Most skilled charting and COVID documentation is handled during day shift.

- Facility training and tour

📍 Local Rule
- 80-mile local placement rule
- Local candidates receive an adjusted rate of -$8
- Local OT rate also adjusted by -$8
- If GSS housing is used, local rates apply.
⚠️ Important Policy
- If clinician backs out or quits with less than 14 days' notice, a $500 fee will be billed.
- Cancellation policy: 2 weeks' notice
