Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract | Washington Township, NJ

Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse opportunity in Washington Township, New Jersey, featuring a 13-week contract, 12-hour day shifts, and a 1:2 patient ratio. Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,070–$2,180
• Assignment Type: 13-week Labor & Delivery travel contract
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:2
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, including Saturday and Sunday
• Holiday Requirement: One summer holiday, one winter eve, and one winter night based on staffing needs
• Call Requirement: None
• Charting: Epic experience preferred
• Additional Information: Scrubs provided; up to two pre-approved time-off requests may be submitted per contract

Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license required at submission
• At least 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
• Ability to scrub and circulate Cesarean sections
• Experience with fetal monitoring, high-risk deliveries, vaginal deliveries, Cesarean recovery, neonatal resuscitation, and postpartum care
• Ability to float within scope to Mother/Baby and nursery assignments
• Previous charge nurse and teaching hospital experience preferred
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, patient care, and teamwork skills

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to laboring patients, postpartum patients, and newborns
• Monitor maternal and fetal status and recognize changes requiring timely intervention
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, high-risk deliveries, and Cesarean births
• Scrub and circulate Cesarean sections as needed
• Support Cesarean recovery, postpartum care, and neonatal resuscitation
• Provide care in Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, and nursery settings according to unit needs
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate individualized patient care
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
• Educate patients and families regarding delivery, recovery, newborn care, and discharge planning
