Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Department in Nashville, Tennessee. This position supports care for laboring patients and newborns immediately after delivery in a 12-bed unit. Responsibilities include assisting with vaginal deliveries, cesarean deliveries, dilation and curettage procedures, cerclage procedures, epidural anesthesia, and tubal ligation procedures.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Two years of labor and delivery experience; required certifications include Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and either Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Intermediate certification or Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring (CEFM).
- Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week; three weekend shifts and one call shift required.
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include care of the laboring patient, care of the newborn immediately after delivery, and circulating and recovering cesarean delivery patients. The unit performs vaginal deliveries, cesarean deliveries, dilation and curettage procedures, cerclage procedures, epidural anesthesia, and tubal ligation procedures. Travelers may be required to float before other staff. Required scrub colors are ceil blue, navy blue, or gray; scrubs are not provided.
