Job Summary
Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse located in Madison, Wisconsin. This position involves providing specialized nursing care to thoracic surgery and IMC patients in a Magnet-designated facility. The role requires critical thinking, teamwork, and the ability to manage complex patient needs within a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, WI RN or compact RN license
- Education Requirements: Registered Nurse (RN) license in WI or compact license
- Location: Madison, WI
- Years of Experience: 2
- Schedule: Day/Evening, 12-hour shift, 36 hours per week
- Float: Float rotation may be required
- Clinical Experience: Acute care experience in telemetry, oncology, cardiac, PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown units. Experience with vent and transplant patients preferred.
- Responsibilities include: Managing arterial lines, blood product administration, telemetry monitoring, chest tube care, and other thoracic-specific procedures.
- Pass/Fail Testing: Telemetry exam required with two attempts, passing score of 80% or higher.
- Additional notes: Must be willing to work holidays, including Christmas and Christmas Eve, with limited possible time off during the holiday period.
