TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Tacoma, Washington.
Job Description & Requirements

Unit: ICU Nursing Float Pool
Requirements
- At least 1 year of ICU experience
- Strong neuro and trauma skills required
- Experience caring for patients 24 hours post-CABG/TAVR required
- First-time travelers accepted with strong ICU and previous float pool experience
- BLS, ACLS and NIHSS
- Epic experience required
Patient care and floating
- Patients: Neuro, trauma, medical, surgical and cardiac critical care, including stroke/TBI, spinal injuries, sepsis, respiratory failure, DKA, multisystem failure and penetrating trauma
- Cardiac/surgical cases: Post-CABG/TAVR, post-arrest, AAA repair, thoracic/vascular surgery and esophagectomy
- Skills: Rhythm interpretation, ventilator/BiPAP management, invasive lines, trachs, chest tubes, lumbar drains, ostomies, general drains and IV medication titration
- Floating: All ICUs, cardiac stepdown, PCU/ACC, ED Holding, MedSurg and related surge areas
- Ratios: ICU 1:2; PCU/ACC/CCU 1:4; ED Holding based on patient level of care
Schedule and support
- Weekends: Every other weekend; consecutive weekends occasionally possible
- Support: Charge RN and 24/7 hospitalist, respiratory therapy and intensivist coverage; cardiologist on call for cardiac areas
