ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This is an opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join a dynamic team within an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The position requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care during night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH) setting for ICU/PCU patients.
• Float to Medical-Surgical Unit (MSU) as needed.
• Educate patients and their significant others about care needs using appropriate educational methods.
• Ensure patient safety by implementing preventative measures, including the proper use of restraints and safety equipment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of safe operation of equipment in the PCU, Telemetry, and MedSurg areas, including troubleshooting and procedural adherence for repairs.
• Implement infection control and isolation procedures while maintaining thorough documentation.
• Maintain accurate, concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses during assigned shifts.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and other departments, especially regarding critical lab values and physicians' orders.
• Conduct a thorough handover report to oncoming shifts.
• Maintain and restock emergency carts, rooms, and general supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in ICU/PCU settings required.
• Active RN license in Washington State or Multi-State license is required.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are required.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
