Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Description
Join a dynamic team in a 65-bed Emergency Department that operates with a pod-based system, including dedicated pediatric and acute mental health areas. We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and maintain accurate documentation.
- Administer IV therapy and phlebotomy as necessary.
- Conduct EKGs and monitor cardiac activity.
- Engage in point-of-care testing and splinting of injuries.
- Utilize critical thinking to address complex patient situations.
- Provide patient education regarding health management and treatment plans.
Patient Population
Provide care to a diverse patient population, handling approximately 230 visits per day.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Nursing experience required.
- Current AHA certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required.
- NRP and TNCC certifications are strongly preferred.
Work Environment
Clinician-to-patient ratio is 1:4. Flexibility is required, as nurses will float to the ED Observation wing and Acute Mental Health Unit when necessary. Shifts will rotate among days, evenings, and nights, with the expectation of rotating every other weekend.
Charting System
Utilize EPIC – ASAP for electronic medical record documentation.
