Alliance Services, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Iron Mountain, Michigan.

Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with variable start times at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• Holiday requirements: at least 2-3 holidays for winter needs, otherwise typically every other holiday during the contract
• Volunteer to go home without pay in lieu of on-call or standby requirement
• Floating to inpatient units for helping hands as needed
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3-4 during the day, with increased ratios at night; after 3:00 AM only 2 RNs until 7:00 AM
• 14 beds and 2 trauma bays; Trauma Level IV facility
• Fast Track available with 3 designated rooms
• Separate triage area with 2 triage rooms; travelers may triage after review of facility policies and procedures
• Patients held in the department with attached ACU rooms used for overflow
• Average of 40-60 patients treated per day
• Common diagnoses include traumas, STEMIs, strokes, hunting injuries, MVAs, and farm-related injuries
• Common drips are variable
• ED Physician coverage 24/7 in-house along with mid-levels
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 for ABGs, breathing treatments, and EKGs as needed
• Central monitoring station with no monitor techs; RNs required to read their own strips
• X-ray available down the hall 24/7; CT located two doors away
• 24/7 phlebotomy available for lab draws
• Computerized charting system
• Dress code: any solid color scrubs, clean and professional
• Orientation includes computer-based training, 2 days of floor orientation, and department-specific policy review
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required
• Michigan nursing license required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a fully staffed emergency department with 24/7 physician coverage, respiratory therapy, and phlebotomy services. The emergency department includes a Fast Track area, dedicated triage rooms, and flexible patient holding accommodations. The facility provides a well-rounded emergency care environment supported by on-site imaging services and a multidisciplinary team including CNAs, medics, and LPNs.
