Genie Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Iron Mountain, Michigan.

Position Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience
- First-time travelers accepted
- Duos accepted
Must have a current Michigan RN license in hand
Emergency Department Overview
- Beds/Trauma Bays: 14 beds, including 2 trauma bays
- Average Census: 40–60 patients/day
- Fast Track: Yes, 3 designated rooms
- Triage: 2 dedicated triage rooms; travelers may triage after reviewing facility policies and procedures
- Psych/Seclusion: Dedicated rooms available; any room can be converted as needed
- ED Physician Coverage: Physician in-house 24/7, with mid-level coverage
- RT: In-house 24/7; provides ABGs, breathing treatments, and EKG assistance
- Phlebotomy: 24/7
- Imaging: X-ray located down the hall and available 24/7; CT located nearby and available 24/7
- Monitoring: Central monitoring station; RNs read their own strips
- Patient Care Support: CNA, medics, and LPNs available for task-based support
Patient Population
Variable ED population including:
- Trauma
- STEMI
- Stroke
- Motor vehicle accidents
- Hunting injuries
- Farm/agricultural injuries
Trauma/Stroke/STEMI: Trauma IV facility. Does not receive stroke or STEMI patients; those patients are transferred out.
Ratios & Workflow
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3–4 during the day
- Ratios increase at night after 11 PM
- From approximately 3 AM–7 AM, typically only 2 RNs are scheduled
- Charge RN generally takes an assignment
- ED holds may remain in the department, with attached ACU rooms used during overflow
- Security is not housed in the ER 24/7; facility maintenance provides security support, with local police/911 and internal code backup as needed
