Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in the region. This contract provides an opportunity to work within a busy facility's NICU, providing specialized care for newborns and infants. The role involves floating to multiple campuses, completing virtual and in-unit orientations, and adhering to scheduling requirements with a focus on quality patient care.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights, 12 hours shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, with a scheduling requirement of 5 days (Wednesday-Sunday OR Thursday-Monday) and work 3 consecutive days each week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Washington State registered nurse license, at least 2 years minimum of NICU experience, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, and experience with patient ratios of 1:2. Must have experience with patient ratios of 1:2, and be capable of floating to Pediatric (Peds) and Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICU), with assignments mainly to newborns and infants. References that cover 1 year of employment in their specialty within the last 3 years are required, including at least one supervisor or charge RN reference.
- Preferred Qualifications: EPIC charting experience.
- Additional Information: Candidates must float between all seven campuses, primarily at First Hill, Edmonds, and Issaquah. The virtual orientation is scheduled every other week and takes approximately 21 hours to complete. Post-virtual orientation, two days of unit orientation will be scheduled based on RN availability. Candidates must complete the virtual modules prior to start, with in-unit orientation scheduled afterward. Travel restrictions apply: Travelers cannot work at a Providence/Swedish facility as a regular employee and accept a travel position at the same time. Vaccination for COVID-19 is required unless medical or religious exemptions are approved.
