Travel RN – Med Surg/Telemetry (MS/Tele) | St. Joseph, MO
Location: St. Joseph, Missouri
Contract: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days – 3x12 hours (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Requirements:
-
Minimum 1 year of RN experience
-
Active RN license required
-
BLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required
-
Epic charting experience required
-
Travel nursing experience is not required
Unit Details:
-
Orthopedic and Neuro Unit
-
48-bed unit, including 32 telemetry beds
-
Patient ratio: 1:5
-
Patient population: Adults and geriatrics
-
Every third weekend
-
24 hours of orientation
Required Clinical Skills:
-
Med-Surg and telemetry nursing
-
IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/PICC line management
-
Blood product administration
-
Neurological assessments and stroke care
-
Postoperative neurosurgery and orthopedic care
-
Joint replacements and fracture management
-
Cardiac monitoring and emergency response
-
Wound care, wound vacs, and surgical drains
-
Oxygen administration and respiratory care
Common Patient Diagnoses:
-
Joint replacements and fractures
-
Stroke/TIA, seizures, and altered mental status
-
Falls, weakness, and pain management
-
Postoperative infections
-
COPD, pneumonia, cellulitis, abscesses, and osteomyelitis
