Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekends: Required; approximately half of the contract's weekend shifts
• Floating: Required as needed

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in Texas or a compact state, in hand at the time of submission
• At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Recent experience caring for adult patients with vascular disease, renal failure, and telemetry needs
• Proficiency with Epic or comparable electronic health record systems
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts, weekends, and required floating assignments

Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize changes in patient condition
• Care for patients with vascular diagnoses, renal failure, and other medical-surgical conditions
• Administer medications, including heparin and insulin, and manage blood products as indicated
• Perform patient assessments, care planning, education, and accurate documentation in Epic
• Manage peripheral and PICC lines, central-line blood draws, IV starts, feeding tubes, ostomies, wound care, and wound vacs
• Provide oxygen therapy, including nasal cannula and high-flow nasal cannula, and support non-invasive airway management
• Interpret and respond to dysrhythmias while using appropriate escalation procedures
• Participate in rapid response and code team interventions when necessary
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote safe, efficient, and patient-centered care
