Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – Des Moines, Iowa Travel Contract

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Position: Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (Med/Surg Tele RN)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse contract
• Location: Des Moines, Iowa 50314
• Start Date: November 1, 2026
• Contract Duration: Approximately 26 weeks, through May 1, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,750–$1,840
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
• Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Work Setting: On-site acute-care hospital, Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Requirements

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Iowa
• At least 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical Telemetry nursing experience
• Demonstrated ability to care for adult medical-surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and clinical documentation skills
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts, including every other weekend and holiday rotations
• Successful completion of required competency validation, employment screening, and facility onboarding requirements

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients on a Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit
• Perform focused and comprehensive patient assessments, identify changes in condition, and promptly escalate concerns
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms within the scope of practice and follow appropriate clinical protocols
• Administer medications and treatments safely while evaluating patient responses
• Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge plans
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and support safe transitions of care
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and a respectful, patient-centered care environment
