Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical With Telemetry. This travel assignment supports intermediate-level adult and geriatric care in a progressive care setting, with a focus on cardiac monitoring and complex medical-surgical conditions. The role requires clinical expertise in telemetry nursing, emergency response, and management of patients requiring enhanced monitoring.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Two years of registered nursing experience; community hospital experience; travel nursing experience; required certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); charting system experience; a multistate compact nursing license or active nursing licenses in both Kansas and Missouri at the time of submission.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience; experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response teams, post-cardiac angiogram care, post-myocardial infarction care, pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care, feeding tube management, hemodialysis management, renal failure, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, peripherally inserted central catheter management, intravenous therapy, cardiac and vasoactive infusions without titration, patient-controlled analgesia, stroke care, surgical drains, chest tubes, noninvasive ventilation, high-flow nasal cannula, arterial blood gas interpretation, tracheostomy management, isolation precautions, wound care, and wound vacuum management.
- Schedule: Night shifts are 12 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: Progressive care patients are cared for at a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio. The patient population includes adults and geriatric patients with acute myocardial infarction, cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure, chest pain, peripheral vascular disease, sepsis, pneumonia, gastrointestinal bleeding, alcohol withdrawal, and other intermediate-level care needs. Weekend coverage includes eight weekend shifts during the six-week schedule period. Telemetry monitoring and emergency response capabilities are integral to the role. Influenza vaccination is required, with medical or religious exemptions accepted. Assignment dates are 11/30/2026 through 03/01/2027.
