Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor position supporting adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced inpatient setting. The role offers 12-hour day shifts with a 36- or 48-hour weekly scheduling option, including weekend coverage. The unit accepts first-time travelers and provides orientation to support successful integration.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts with a minimum of 48 hours per week; 36- or 48-hour scheduling options available. Weekend coverage is required.
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; charting system experience; ability to care for adult and geriatric patients.
- Preferred Qualifications: Two years of experience preferred; previous travel experience is welcome but not required.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information:
- Typical patient ratio is 6:1.
- Orientation includes 12 hours.
- Patient care includes medical-surgical, telemetry, renal failure, wound care, central lines, chest tubes, feeding tubes, ostomy care, oxygen therapy, blood product administration, and intravenous therapy.
- Experience with telemetry monitoring, rapid response or code teams, isolation precautions, respiratory support, drains, vascular access devices, and pre- and post-hemodialysis care is relevant.
- Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary services.
