Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical Floor. The role provides compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to assigned patients while coordinating treatment, medication administration, and communication with patients, support persons, and the healthcare team. The position supports safe, efficient clinical operations across orthopedic and oncology patient populations.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with weekend rotation; minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse licensure in Maine or compact licensure; good standing with the Board of Nursing; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); two years of current hospital nursing experience.
- Additional Information: Provides nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Demonstrates knowledge of orthopedic procedures, treatments, equipment, and oncology patient care. Coordinates complex patient assignments, administers and evaluates medications safely, directs paraprofessional activities, maintains effective communication, and applies evidence-based practice, accepted protocols, and nursing judgment in the clinical setting.
