Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical Floor, Wyoming The position provides bedside care for medical-surgical patients of all ages in an acute-care setting. The role includes medication administration, use of unit-based equipment, collaboration across clinical areas as needed, and participation in a variable schedule that supports coverage needs.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse license in Wyoming; minimum of 2 years of medical-surgical experience; Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Additional Information:
- Weekend availability is required, and on-call coverage may be necessary during periods of low census.
- Block or fixed schedules cannot be guaranteed; schedule flexibility is required to help fill coverage gaps.
- The unit includes 20 rooms and 35 beds, with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 and up to 1:6 during emergent surgeries.
- Commonly used equipment includes intravenous pumps, specialty beds and call systems, enteral feeding pumps, and automated medication-dispensing systems.
- Orientation includes education sessions, restraint training, and one shadow shift before independent practice.
