Job Details
- Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Surgical Floor
- Location: Illinois
- Shift Schedule: Nights; 12-hour shifts; minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois license or active application process, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications; at least 1 year of clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with telemetry monitoring and management of patients with complex medical conditions
- Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to adult medical-surgical patients, including those with heart failure, diabetic conditions, and end-of-life care
- Monitor telemetry and promptly respond to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with charge nurses and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient treatment plans
- Document patient care accurately using electronic charting system
- Adhere to unit policies regarding infection control, patient safety, and quality standards
- Float to other units as needed, including overflow areas and occasionally ICU, to support staffing needs
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, adhering to holiday and weekend requirements
- Submission Requirements: Last four digits of SSN, active IL license or proof of application, confirmation of certifications, understanding of drug-free campus policy
