Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse Wausau, Wisconsin. This position involves providing specialized nursing care within an inpatient Medical Surgical unit, focusing on palliative, hospice, and comfort care patients. The role requires flexibility with shift times, a resilient work ethic, and the ability to adapt to changing patient needs in a collaborative environment.
Job Details
- Certifications: Wisconsin RN license, American Heart Association or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Education Requirements: Associate Degree or Certificate.
- Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical nursing, with 1 year preferred in inpatient Palliative Care.
- Location Requirements: Candidates must be authorized to work in the state of Wisconsin.
- Years of Experience: 2.0
- Shift: Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts, 7 AM to 7:30 PM / 7 PM to 7:30 AM, with every other weekend and holiday rotation.
- Schedule: 36 hours per week.
- Required Skillset: Med/Surg skill set required. Experience in Palliative Care/Hospice is helpful.
- Charting Experience: Epic electronic health record system required.
- Additional Information: The unit is a 10-bed inpatient setting with 2 RNs and 1 CNA per 10 patients. Hybrid low census hours are available, with hours sometimes in 4-hour or 8-hour increments. The role involves managing change well, resilience, and social skills to work effectively with colleagues and patients.
