Job Summary
Registered Nurse Medical-Surgical. This position provides care for adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical setting, supporting patients with conditions such as pneumonia, respiratory failure, sepsis, acute kidney injury, chest pain, cellulitis, and altered mental status. The role includes overnight 12-hour shifts, patient care coordination, and management of a patient ratio of approximately 1:6.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Weekend coverage is required.
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience; travel experience required; current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications; state or compact nursing license in hand at submission; experience caring for patients at a 1:6 ratio; required charting system experience; skills in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias, managing cardiac drips without titration, medical-surgical and telemetry care, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care and management, and isolation precautions and personal protective equipment.
- Additional Information: Patient population includes adults and geriatric patients. The unit supports care for urinary tract infections, pneumonia, respiratory failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, sepsis, acute kidney injury, chest pain, cellulitis, and altered mental status. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, and pharmacy. Orientation includes 12 hours.
