Care Career is seeking a travel nurse RN Float Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Bridgeport, West Virginia.

Job Requirements
- Active RN license required at submission
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Must pass a cardiac rhythm exam
- Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
- Must provide a copy of an unexpired driver's license with submission
- 50-mile radius rule applies
Unit & Patient Information
This position is part of the MedSurg/Telemetry Float Pool. The most frequent assignments are:
- 6N: 36 beds
- 7N: 29 beds
Other potential assignments include:
- 4N: 36 beds
- 5S: 36 beds
- 6S: 36 beds
- Critical Care: 20 beds
Patient Ratio: Typically 1:5–6, depending on patient acuity.
Common Diagnoses:
- CHF and cardiac catheterization
- Chest pain
- Pneumonia and COPD
- Chronic renal disease
- Orthopedics
- Oncology
Permanent staff administer chemotherapy.
Responsibilities & Clinical Requirements
- Provide MedSurg and basic telemetry patient care.
- Read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips.
- Float between units according to facility needs.
- Care for patients within your scope of practice.
- No titration of drips is required.
- CPAP and BiPAP respiratory equipment is managed by Respiratory Therapy.
Scheduling Requirements
- 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required (Saturday/Sunday)
- Holidays included in the facility's holiday rotation
- No specific on-call requirement listed
- 1–2 orientation shifts with a preceptor
Additional Information
- CNAs are available on all units.
- Monitor technicians are available on most units, but RNs must interpret cardiac rhythms.
- Each unit has a charge nurse. Day-shift charge nurses do not take patient assignments; night-shift charge nurses do.
- Facility cancellation policy: Up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract.
