Travel Nursing Job Details

• Additional Scheduling Information: Shift assignments may rotate based on operational needs. Travelers should be prepared to work at least every other holiday.

Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or an active compact-state license in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of recent permanent experience in medical-surgical telemetry nursing
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from an accepted provider
• Strong telemetry knowledge and ECG rhythm-recognition skills
• Ability to successfully complete required ECG rhythm-recognition and medication-safety assessments during orientation
• Recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director within the specialty
• Ability to meet hospital credentialing, background-screening, and onboarding requirements
• Adaptability to float to other units, including designated medical-surgical areas and the emergency department, when caring for the same patient population

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Assess patients, develop and update individualized plans of care, and evaluate clinical outcomes
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and promptly recognize and escalate changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely while following established clinical protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Provide patient and family education related to diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge needs
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
• Float to comparable units as needed to support continuity of care and hospital operations
