Unit Information:
- Unit Name: A3 West Med Surg Tele
- Number of Beds: 38
- Patient Ratios: 6:1 (goal for charge nurse to assist), 7:1 during night stretch
- Type of Equipment: Baxter IV pumps, Wound vacs, SCDS, prima-fits
- EMR: Cerner Powerchart
Typical Hiring Profile:
- Must Have: Medical/surgical nursing experience, Telemetry
- Preferred: Charge nurse experience
Typical Procedures Performed:
- Peripheral IV starts
- Dressing changes
- Other standard medical surgical skills
Best Personality Fit:
- Team player
- Positive attitude
- Proactive in helping others
Required Certifications:
- BLS
Floating Areas:
- Other medical surgical units, ED holding medical/surgical patients
Dress Code:
- Scrub Color/Attire: all navy, all white, or white top and navy pants, navy or white undershirts if needed
Weekends and On Call:
- Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule
