Travel Med/Surg Tele Float Pool RN – Quick Highlights Specialty: Med/Surg/Tele Float Pool RN Radius Rule: 50 miles; unexpired driver's license required at submission Certifications: BLS & ACLS required Experience: Must pass a cardiac rhythm exam; ACLS experience expected to support passing Patient Ratios: Primarily 1:5–6, occasionally 1:7 depending on acuity Units: 6N (36 beds), 7N (29 beds), 4N (36 beds), 5S (36 beds), 6S (36 beds), and Critical Care (20 beds) Patient Population: CHF, cardiac cath, chest pain, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, orthopedic and oncology patients Drips: No drip titration required Telemetry: Phillips monitors; RN must read and interpret strips Respiratory: CPAP/BiPAP; managed by RT Shifts: 7 AM–7 PM / 7 PM–7 AM Weekends: Every other weekend, Sat/Sun for both days and nights Holidays: Included in the holiday rotation Floating: RN reports to the clinical coordinator before shift for assignment; may float across all 6 units Assignment: Usually assigned a parent unit and basic telemetry patients within scope Orientation: 1–2 shifts with a preceptor Scrubs: Royal Blue Support: CNAs available on all units Charge: Day charge does not take patients; night charge takes an assignment.
