Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our MedSurg unit. This position involves working in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care to individuals with various medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Caring for patients with diagnoses such as pneumonia, CHF, COPD, renal disease, sepsis, stroke, and overflow general surgical cases.
- Administering medications, treatments, and monitoring patient conditions.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
- Assisting with activities of daily living as needed.
- Documenting patient information in the electronic medical record.
Shift Information
- Type: Nights
- Shift Length: 12 hours (1845-0715)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: Based on unit needs
- Holiday Requirement: Based on unit needs
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Med Surg (Medical Surgical)
- Number of Beds: 52
- Nurse-Patient Ratios: 1:4 on days and nights
- Support Staff: Nurse aides/patient care techs with ratios of 1:7 on days and 1:11 on nights
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
- Current BLS certification.
- Experience in a Medical Surgical unit preferred but not necessary; new graduates are welcomed.
Additional Information
- Charge Nurses: 2 on each shift; they do not take assignments.
- Orientation: 2 shifts of unit-specific training provided.
- Floating: May be required to float to surgical floor and PCU within skillset.
- Scrubs: Any color scrubs; scrubs are not provided.
