Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 48-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
- Perform skilled nursing procedures including IV insertion, Foley catheter insertion, and NG tube insertion
- Conduct and interpret EKGs and manage patients on heparin drips
- Document patient care accurately using the Paragon electronic health record system
- Occasionally float to inpatient rehab or the emergency department for task-based support as needed
- Maintain compliance with all required certifications: NIH Stroke Scale, ACLS, and BLS
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience
- At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment completed
- Proficiency in IV starts, Foley catheter insertion, NG tube insertion, EKG performance, and heparin drip management
- Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a high-acuity, high-turnover Med Surg environment
- Comfort managing a 1:6 patient ratio
- Familiarity with the Paragon EHR system
