Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Colorado
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience; medical/surgical nursing experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in patient care and nursing operations
• Prior charge nurse, supervisory, management, or nursing team leadership experience preferred
• Ability to support staff development, resource management, and quality improvement initiatives
• Successful completion of required Colorado Adult Protective Services (CAPS) screening
• Reliable personal transportation required due to limited public transportation in the rural Gunnison area

Medical-Surgical Nursing Leadership Responsibilities

• Provide and oversee safe, effective medical/surgical patient care
• Supervise nursing staff and support efficient daily operations of the medical/surgical unit
• Collaborate with nursing and organizational leadership to promote excellent clinical outcomes
• Coordinate staffing, patient-care resources, and operational priorities
• Support staff education, professional development, and performance improvement
• Participate in quality improvement activities and promote compliance with nursing standards
