Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D RN) Nights Location unspecified. This position involves providing comprehensive obstetric care within a community hospital setting. The role requires delivering safe, patient-centered care to women and newborns across all stages of labor, delivery, and postpartum.
Job Details
- Position Description: L&D RN providing labor and delivery services during night shifts, with options for 36 or 48 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Active MD or Compact RN license, BLS, ACLS, and NCC Certified in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) all in hand at the time of submission. Two years of experience preferred but will accept one year with strong skills and experience; first-time travelers accepted.
- Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with charge nursing, charting (preferably Epic), community hospital settings, and Level I Nursery experience.
- Additional Responsibilities: Assisting with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, fetal monitoring, postpartum care, neonatal assessments, and patient teaching. Staff may float within the department and to mother/baby units as needed; all staff are required to work in all areas of the department.
- Certifications: Must possess CPI certification (online Calm Every Storm accepted), and the required STEM certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NRP.
- Onboarding & Compliance: Labs to be completed within 72 hours of signing, with all documentation submitted 5 days prior to start date.
- Unit Details: Community hospital with a 4-bed labor, delivery, and recovery unit, a 12-bed Mother-Baby unit, and a Level I Neonatal nursery. The unit performs approximately 50-60 deliveries per month, caring for pregnancies from 35 weeks gestation and above.
