Job Summary
Labor and Delivery nursing position providing care for laboring patients, including high-risk pregnancies, cesarean sections, postpartum care, and neonatal support. The role supports patients with conditions such as preeclampsia and diabetes, including gestations of 34 weeks and greater, and accepts first-time travelers.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts are 12 hours, with a 36- or 48-hour schedule and a minimum of 36 hours per week. Weekend coverage includes six weekend shifts in six weeks or every third weekend.
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Association of Womens Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and fetal heart monitoring certification required in hand at submission.
- Preferred Qualifications: Two years of Labor and Delivery experience, previous charge experience, and charting system experience.
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include care of laboring patients with high-risk conditions, obstetrical triage, antepartum and postpartum care, cesarean sections, external cephalic versions, vaginal deliveries, newborn assessment, Level II special care nursery support, breastfeeding and lactation support, administration of blood products, magnesium sulfate therapy, fetal monitoring, and management of preeclampsia, diabetes, preterm labor, premature rupture of membranes, hemorrhage, and other obstetrical complications. Patient populations include neonates, infants, adolescents, and adults.
