- Schedule: 3 x 12-hour night shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020-$2,130
- Call Requirement: 2 shifts per 6-week schedule period
- Weekend Commitment: Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month
- Patient Ratios: 1:1-2 during labor; 1:1-8 for postpartum/couplets
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Tennessee or compact licensure at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of current Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Travel nursing experience required
- Current ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certification
- NIHSS required or obtainable after acceptance
- Experience with electronic health records; Cerner experience preferred
- Strong skills in labor support, postpartum care, triage, and high-risk obstetric delivery assistance
- Ability to float as needed and work effectively in a fast-paced maternal-child unit
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate bedside care to laboring and postpartum patients
- Monitor patient status and support individualized care plans for mothers and newborns
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, circulate for C-sections, and provide recovery care
- Perform sterile vaginal exams and support common obstetric interventions as needed
- Manage therapies such as magnesium sulfate, insulin drips, anticoagulation, and antihypertensives
- Support triage, patient education, and clear communication with the healthcare team
- Follow unit policies, safety standards, and floating guidelines while adapting to changing patient needs
