Job Summary
Interventional Radiology Milwaukee, WI. This position supports adult patients in a high-volume interventional radiology department providing general and neurointerventional procedures. Responsibilities include patient monitoring, charting, and sedation administration when anesthesia is not involved, with participation in scheduled and on-call coverage.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; Interventional Radiology experience; experience caring for adult patients; experience with general interventional radiology procedures; Neurointerventional Radiology experience, including stroke and embolization procedures; ability to administer sedation when anesthesia is not involved; ability to monitor and document patient care; 30-minute response time for call.
- Preferred Qualifications: Abdominal aortic aneurysm intervention experience; electronic medical record experience; experience with Siemens and GE equipment.
- Schedule: Rotating 10-hour shifts with a minimum of 40 hours per week. General interventional radiology shifts are scheduled from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and neurointerventional radiology shifts are scheduled from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Weekday call may be scheduled Monday through Thursday, and weekend call may occur approximately every fifth or sixth weekend. Travelers with neurointerventional radiology experience may take both neurointerventional and general interventional radiology call; other travelers may take general interventional radiology call.
- Additional Information: The department treats approximately 4050 patients per day and supports procedures including kyphoplasty, vertebroplasty, central lines, peripherally inserted central catheters, ports, fistulograms, inferior vena cava filters, nephrostomy tubes, nephroureteral stents, peripheral vascular procedures, coil embolization, thoracentesis, paracentesis, cryoablation, computed tomography-guided biopsies, and drains. Neurointerventional procedures include stroke treatment, embolization, digital subtraction angiography, Wada testing, and spinal angiography. Orientation includes 12 weeks with a preceptor followed by competency validation. The department is staffed continuously and provides support from technologists, respiratory therapy, hospitalists, and patient transport services.
