Job Summary
A registered nurse specializing in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) is sought for a healthcare facility in St. Louis, MO. The role involves providing direct patient care for adult patients, including assessments, planning, and coordination of care related to post-operative and medical conditions, utilizing the nursing process within established practice guidelines.
Job Details
- Shift: Nights, 7:00 AM 7:30 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Current RN license in Missouri or eligible for licensure, BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association, and at least 1 year of experience in a cardiac stepdown or equivalent setting.
- Preferred Qualifications: NIHSS certification.
- Responsibilities: Utilize the nursing process to provide patient assessments, coordinate patient care with ancillary departments, monitor and evaluate care effectiveness, and maintain patient rights and confidentiality.
- Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: The nurse will care for patients post-CABG, valve procedures, thoracotomies, with respiratory failure or chest pain. The role requires teamwork, adherence to professional standards, and flexibility to float as needed to similar or lower acuity units.
