Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions and develop, plan, and implement individualized patient care plans in a critical care environment
- Provide advanced life support, treat wounds, and respond to life-saving situations using established nursing standards and protocols
- Monitor and manage ventilators, IABP, cardiac monitors, and other critical care equipment, making adjustments as needed
- Administer intravenous fluids and medications; perform suctioning and other critical care interventions
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary critical care team, assist physicians during procedures, and accurately record patient vital signs
- Serve as a patient advocate and provide education and emotional support to patients and their families
Required Qualifications
- Active Texas RN license or a valid multi-state RN license
- Current ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (required)
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (required)
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in an ICU or critical care setting
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience
- Experience caring for pre- and post-operative patients in a critical care setting
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems used in acute care environments
