ICU Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, specifically in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The position requires critical care experience and proficiency in managing complex patient needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically Ill patients in the ICU.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, responding promptly to changes in status.
- Titrate drips including vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, and analgesics as required.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including hospitalists and respiratory therapists, who are available 24/7.
- Participate in patient and family education regarding treatment plans and care processes.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and adhere to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
- Critical care nursing experience is required.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Work Schedule
This position allows for self-scheduling and block scheduling. RNs are expected to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule, ensuring equitable distribution among all staff. Holiday requirements are also applicable.
Unit Information
Join a 12-bed ICU with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2. There are no nurse aids in this unit, and RNs are expected to read their own telemetry strips. Scrub color is navy blue.
Orientation
New hires will undergo a unit/department specific orientation, with dates and locations assigned during the week of orientation.
Location
This opportunity is available within a 60-mile radius of the clinical facility located in a major metropolitan area.
Additional Information
Candidates must be available for the orientation week, which may include remote training modules. Further details will be provided upon hiring.
