Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) position supporting a combined medical, surgical, and cardiac critical care setting. The role provides care for high-acuity patients with respiratory distress, cardiac events, neurological emergencies, and complex postoperative needs. The assignment includes primarily night shifts with rotating scheduling.
Job Details
- Schedule: Primarily night shifts with rotating scheduling; 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week. Assignment dates are 11/30/202603/01/2027.
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience; completion of at least 1 travel assignment; Delaware (DE) or compact nursing license; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications.
- Additional Information:
- Combined medical, surgical, and cardiac ICU patient population.
- Level 1 trauma setting.
- Typical clinical conditions include respiratory distress, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, overdose, video-assisted thoracic surgery, carotid endarterectomy, cardiac arrest, percutaneous coronary intervention, diabetic ketoacidosis, stroke, seizures, coronary artery bypass graft postoperative care, and targeted temperature management.
- Clinical skills include ventilator management, line insertion, arterial line management, central venous pressure monitoring, and Swan-Ganz catheter management.
- Patient assignment ratio is typically 1:2.
- Floating to the post-anesthesia care unit may be required.
