Job Summary
Electro Physiology Lab position for a healthcare professional supporting electrophysiology and cardiac procedures in an acute care setting. Responsibilities include patient assessment and education, consent verification, room setup, case circulation, moderate sedation support, hemodynamic monitoring, documentation, and coordination with the procedural team. The role includes weekday shifts, rotating call coverage, and support for a range of electrophysiology procedures.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA); minimum of 2 years of cardiac catheterization laboratory experience; IABP experience; active license to submit.
- Schedule: Day shifts consisting of four 10-hour shifts per week, generally 7:00 AM5:30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week, with rotating weekday and weekend call coverage. Call response time is 30 minutes.
- Additional Information: The role supports ablations, electrophysiology studies, pacemaker and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator placements, and loop recorder implants. Duties include verifying orders and consents, performing head-to-toe assessments, providing patient education, setting up procedure rooms, circulating cases, administering moderate sedation or assisting anesthesia providers, continuously monitoring hemodynamics, documenting care, and coordinating with the procedural team. Orientation generally includes 23 full days of training and shadowing, followed by buddy call before independent call coverage.
