Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Operating Room Open Heart position supporting acute care surgical services. The role performs circulating duties for cardiovascular operating room cases, including coronary artery bypass grafting, aortic valve replacement, mitral valve replacement, and thoracotomy procedures. Night shifts, call coverage, weekend rotation, and collaboration across operating room specialties are required.
Job Details
- Schedule: 8-hour night shifts, 40 hours per week, with call coverage and every-other-weekend rotation.
- Required Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse license required for submission
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Two years of operating room experience
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Scrubbing experience
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information:
- Circulating responsibilities are performed for cardiovascular operating room cases.
- Call coverage is shared and rotated among cardiovascular operating room registered nurses.
- Weekend and holiday coverage may be required.
- Floating may occur within the operating room to other specialties and the main operating room.
- Orientation is provided for approximately one week or until the registered nurse is comfortable.
- Common procedures include coronary artery bypass grafting, aortic valve replacement, mitral valve replacement, and thoracotomy.
