Job Details:

• Position may float between ICU, Telemetry, or Medical/Surgical units
• Weekend shifts required - 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule to meet department needs
• Patient ratio of 1:2 maintained across days, nights, and weekends
• Block schedules are not required
• 48-hour shifts are approved
• Dress code for licensed nursing personnel requires solid navy blue colored uniforms or scrub attire - print tops are not acceptable
• Epic charting system experience required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• At least 1 year of ICU experience required
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• CVICU and Neuro ICU experience required with strong skills checklist scores (3s and 4s) in CV and Neuro
• Experience required in: CV surgery, trauma, ventilators, chest tubes, central venous lines (CVL), external ventricular drains (EVDs), and neurosurgery
• Must be proficient in lab interpretation and arterial blood gas interpretation
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
• Special equipment experience required: ECMO, Impella, IABP, and CRRT
• Key skills include: arterial line management, ventilator management, cardiac drip titration, vasoactive drip titration, post cardiac surgery care, post craniotomy care, traumatic brain injury management, ICP monitoring, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, and continuous IV sedation and paralytics
• Patient population includes adults with diagnoses including trauma, CV surgery, general surgery, and neurology
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during submission

Facility:

This short-term acute care facility operates with 379 staffed beds and holds a Level II Trauma Center designation. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretarial support. The ICU unit consists of 16 beds with a daily census of 11 and specializes in complex patient care including cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, general surgery, and trauma cases.
